Tumblrin'

I recently discovered Tumblr, and I'm in love. I'm posting with alarming frequency. Mostly, I link to and quote things, maybe providing some commentary, and sometimes I post my own photos.

This site is not going away (though it remains pathetically anemic in content), because who knows when I'll feel the need to post a three page rant?

About (Long Version)

I'm in the throes of Ph.D. studies, an experience I'm loving and for which I'm deeply grateful. The downside is that other things I care about get pushed aside. This is my attempt to create space for those things, which include: education, photography, geeky things, amateur enthusiasm about science, shenanigans, adventures, occasional navel gazing, un-ironic enthusiasm about just about everything, and non-academic writing about all those.

Forced once in a bar to answer the question, "No, but really, on a scale of 1 to 10, how Catholic are you?", I said 10. If you're wondering what that even means, so am I. Anyway, that Catholicy stuff's everywhere.

This is a non-anonymous, search-engine-anti-optimized blog. It's not secret or private, so share away! I use first names, initials, or pseudonyms for myself, family and friends, and my institutions so this blog doesn't come up in searches about those people and things.
